West Lampeter Township is proud of the long and prosperous legacy of faming in the township. This section of the Stormwater website is dedicated to stormwater management concerns for township agricultural properties.
The Chesapeake Bay Watershed, including the southern PA region, has been declining in water quality for decades. Stormwater runoff pollutants - including sediment, phosphorous, and nitrogen - have contributed to toxic algae blooms, silted waters, decrease fish and plant species, and lower overall water quality. The township uses the stormwater permitting process to ensure less pollution is entering our waterways from new building projects.
