Real Estate Taxes are levied by Lancaster County, the Lampeter-Strasburg School District and West Lampeter Township. The County and Township real estate tax notice is combined and sent by the Lancaster County Treasurer.  This portion of the tax is commonly referred to as the “Spring Tax” because it is mailed in late winter and the base amount is due in the spring. School Taxes - The School District portion of real estate taxes are billed and mailed by the School District and is commonly referred to as the “Fall Tax” because it is mailed in the summer and the base amount is due in the fall. Questions regarding school district taxes can be made to the district at 464-3311.

Income Taxes are levied by the Township and School District. This tax is a payroll tax and is normally deducted directly by your employer and then remitted to the Lancaster County Tax Collection Bureau. Annual income tax filing for this tax is required each year with the deadline the same as federal and state income taxes in April. Local Services Tax is levied by the Township on persons working within West Lampeter Township. Employers are required to withhold the tax each year and remit it to the Lancaster County Tax Collection Bureau. Persons earning less than $12,000 per year may request a refund of the tax.
