What will the villages of Willow Street or Lampeter look like in the future? Will there be new parks or trails around West Lampeter and where? Will the farm near my home be preserved or developed? The historic building across the street, will it be restored or demolished?
The answers to these questions may be found in the township’s comprehensive plan. The community has done a great job in creating a vision for the future in the plan that was adopted on November 10, 2003. The task now is transforming the vision into reality. This can only be accomplished with help from the community.
As reported in the newspaper and LampPost, committees are now being organized to assist in the following areas: Historic preservation, village renewal (Willow Street and Lampeter), farmland preservation, parks and open space, and transportation. Everyone can help. All that is needed is interest and a little time. On March 5, 2007 a meeting was held to review basic information on the implementation committees.
Residents, property and business owners in West Lampeter Township are invited to become a part of an implementation committee. Below are links to committee information. Persons interested in serving on a committee should complete the Registration Form and return to the Township.
