Department Patch

pdpatch

This patch is proudly worn by the officers of the West Lampeter Township Police Department.  It depicts an outline of the jurisdictional borders of West Lampeter Township, established in 1837, and is set in the Keystone symbolic of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  Crossed in front are two Pennsylvania Rifles.  The Martin Meylin Gun Shop, circa 1719, located at the intersection of Long Rifle Road and Eshelman Mill Road, was the first producer of these fine rifles.  The building still stands.
