1. Is soliciting door-to-door permitted in the township?

Yes. Permits are required in West Lampeter Township for the door-to-door sale of goods and services. Permits may be obtained at our police station between 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. You will need photo IDs of ALL individuals planning to canvas the Township, as well as vehicle registration numbers. Contact information will also need to be provided to obtain a permit.

2. They say I won a prize, but need to send them money first?

Avoid being a victim of fraud. Whether it be a get-rich-quick scam or identity theft, fraud is reaching epidemic proportions. If it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is! Educate yourself on how to recognize and avoid frauds and scams:

3. Where can I obtain a dog license?

All dogs three months or older must be licensed in Lancaster County by January 1 of each year. Discounts are available to older adults and people with disabilities. Dog licensing is done through the Lancaster County Treasurer’s Office, 150 N. Queen Street, Suite 122, Lancaster, PA 17602. Phone number 717-299-8222.

4. While I'm away, can the Police Department perform a house check?

Yes. As a courtesy to the residents of West Lampeter Township, our officers will perform house checks on residential properties that are temporarily uninhabited during vacations, business, travel, etc. You can request a House Check between 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. either by phone or by coming in to the station.
