Pollution Prevention & Good Housekeeping

MCM 6: Pollution Prevention & Good Housekeeping (PPGH)

West Lampeter Township is required to minimize stormwater pollution generated at their municipal buildings, maintenance yards, and public parks, and Public Works staff is committed to conducting daily activities in ways that protect water quality. By doing so, we ensure that the substances used during routine operation and maintenance procedures are not entering the stormwater system and polluting our local waterways. Township staff also takes measures to reduce stormwater pollution by street sweeping, litter control, and cleaning out storm drains.

The key component of the township’s PPGH program is to educate the municipal staff so that they perform job duties in ways that minimize stormwater pollution. To accomplish this, WLT will provide regular trainings and educational opportunities that focus on pollution prevention.
