Citizens Memorial

Upon the request of several concerned citizens, the West Lampeter Township Board of Supervisors created a Memorial Committee to establish criteria and design a permanent memorial with which to honor West Lampeter Township residents who significantly contributed to the quality of life through service to their community. Known as the West Lampeter Township Citizens’ Memorial the Committee raised enough funds to plan for the installation of the memorial. The Memorial was dedicated October 14, 2013 and the names of nearly fifty residents graced the memorial on individual plaques honoring the contributions made by each. The memorial is located at the entrance to the Township Municipal Building. Nominations will continue to be received by the Memorial Committee. For more information or to make a nomination, please use the printable form below, or contact Dee Dee McGuire, Township Manager at 717-464-3731.

Veterans Memorial

The Veterans’ Memorial at Village Park on Village Road behind the Lampeter-Strasburg YMCA was the proposal of Eric Kilmer as his Eagle Scout project. Eric worked with the Township and a local contractor to design the memorial and raise funds by selling bricks in honor and memory of local service men and women. Flags of each of the branches of the United States military service units were placed and the memorial was dedicated in 2008. Bricks continue to be sold. Anyone wishing to purchase a brick in memory of a loved one who served this great country should contact the West Lampeter Township office at 717-464-3731, for further information.
